Safe Electricity is the award-winning, multi-media public awareness program of the Energy Education Council, a registered 501 (c) (3) organization dedicated to promoting electrical safety and energy efficiency.  Since 1952, the Council has provided a forum for diverse interests to come together on the mutually vital issues of electrical safety, efficiency, renewable energy and power quality.

Since its creation in 2001, Safe Electricity has been providing information to consumers and helps to compliment the safety education activities of utilities and educators. The program provides life-saving information through many venues, including radio and television public services announcements, videos, news releases and articles, and its comprehensive Web site. Safe Electricity has received national recognition for the quality and scope of its programs and services.

Safe Electricity's life saving message is reaching more consumers nationwide through the participation of utility partners located in 26 states highlighted in our membership map.
